A native of Wayne County, she had lived in Patterson before moving to Hortense in 1958. A housewife, she was a member of the Satilla Baptist church. She was a daughter of the late Joseph L. Thornton and Oleta A. Griffis Thornton.
Survivors include her husband, Donald P. Davis of Hortense; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy L. and Penny Davis of Hickox and Bruce E. and Ginger Davis of Nahunta; two sisters, Alveda Kirkland and Navonia "Bunk" Bargeron, both of Blackshear; four stepbrothers and one stepsister; all of Blackshear; seven grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, from the Satilla Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Herrin and the Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Interment followed in the Satilla Cemetery.
The Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home of Blackshear was in charge of arrangements.
