He died the morning of June 30, 1825 at his home in Petite Anse at the age of about 76 years and was buried the same day in the St. Martin Parish cemetery of St. Martin de Tours. St. Martin de Tours cemetery no longer exists and most of the bodies there were moved to St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in the same town.
