James "Jim" Lawrence, 83, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Saturday evening January 31, 2009 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born on January 9, 1926 in Bowling Green, Missouri to the late Hayden Thomas and Lois Ellen (Jones) Lawrence. On February 20, 1947 he was married in Bowling Green, Missouri to Martha Jane (Tinsley) Lawrence who preceded him in death on November 10, 1991.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Eldon, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. A member of the VFW Post #2442 of Eldon, Missouri serving on the Burial Detail, and a member of the American Legion in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feburary 4, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Feburary 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. Full Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #2442 of Eldon, Missouri at the conclusion of the funeral service at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, Feburary 5, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Bowling Green Cemetery in Bowling Green, Missouri.
