Samuel Daniels, 78, retired Belleville Coal Miner who moved to Venice 16 years ago, died at his home in Venice. Four of his relatives are serving in the Navy.
He was born in England, Aug. 23, 1863, and was a son of the late John & Fanny (Cooper) Daniels. He married Caroline Buffard at Belleville, July 13, 1886 and she died 15 years ago.
Surviving are three children; John J. Daniels, U.S. Navy and stationed at New Orleans; August W. Daniels, Venice, and Mrs. Selma Merideth, Boonville, Ind. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Schroeder, Belleville. Three of his grandsons are in the Navy. They are; John J. Jr., A.W. and Samuel Daniels.
