Thomas David Wetzel, 78, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, MD.
Born September 7, 1929 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Otto and Eva Mae Carrick Wetzel.
He worked as a technical writer and retired in 2003 from the Computer Science Corporation, Hanover, Md. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Wetzel; one daughter, Catherine P. Gray, Martinsburg; three sons, David G. Wetzel, Walkersville, MD, Alan T. Wetzel, Chesapeake Beach, MD, and M. Scott Wetzel, Gerrardstown; 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark C. Wetzel, and one sister, Eva Mae Wetzel, five brothers, Frank, Everett, William, Robert, & George Wetzel.
Funeral services were conducted, November 29 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with Pastor Charles Jones officiating. Interment was in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs. The Tri-State Honor Guard provided military graveside rites.
The family received friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, November 28 at the funeral home.
