Death Takes Joe Claer Long-Time Resident

Funeral services for Joe Claer, 52, Terrace Park, were held at 10 a.m. June 7 at Sacred Heart Church, Spencer. Rev. Robert Joynt officiated at the funeral Mass.

Burial was at Calvary cemetery, Ayrshire.

Mr. Claer, who has lived in this area all his life, died June 4 at Spencer Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ayrshire, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Claer, and lived here with the exception of ten years spent in Des Moines in the 1940's.

He and Irene Hooker were married in Des Moines Jan. 20, 1962.

Mr. Claer had been associated with Humbolt Institute of Minneapolis at the time of his death. Prior to this, he was in sales work.

Survivors include the widow and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Keir, Spencer, and Mrs. R. V. Leary, Des Moines.
