Samuel N. Lougee is her brother
She never married
-----------------------
On the 31st inst., of consumption, at the residence of her father, Dea. Samuel Lougee, in this place, Miss Rebecca Lougee, aged 29 years and 7 months.

The deceased has suffered the pains of her unconquerable disease for the period of three years.

She was removed, last June, whith her family, from Warner, N. H., to this place, but change and unremitting kindness were unavailing to stay the ravages of her destroyer. She died in the cheering hope that to depart and be with Christ would be to her infinite gain, and the recollection of her christian resignation and trust is a source of great joy to her remaining friends.

Her remains were the first to be interred in Oak Ridge cemetery. For the information of her eastern friends, er report the order of the exercises at the funeral. This took place Nov. 2nd, and the services were conducted by Rev. L. Armsby, the Congregational minister of this place. Prayer was offered at the residence of her father, at 12 1/2 o'clock P.M.

The friends walked in procession to the church. Here, after invoking the Divine blessing, selections from the scriptures were read; the choir then sung the hymn commencing, "How blest the rightous when he dies."

After this a serman was preached from JOB 30:23-"For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all the living."

The sermon was followed by prayer, and the services at the church were concluded by singing the hymn, "Why should we start and fear to die." At the grave the well-known hymn was sung, "Sister, thou art mild and lovely," and prayer was then offered by the officiating clergyman.
