TRAVELERS REST - Allen "Doc" Green, 48, of 103 Center St., died Saturday.
A native of Newport, Tenn., son of the late James and Linnie Hittson Green, he lived in Travelers Rest for the past 26 years. He was an employee of Steel Heddle and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Ross Green; four daughters, Mrs. Debra Staton, Miss Phillis Green, Miss Marjorie Green and Miss Shirley Green of Travelers Rest; four sons, James, Roger, Bobby and Phillip Green of Travelers Rest; a brother, William T. Green of Marietta; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Green of Greenville and Mrs. Vesta Reese of Hot Springs, N. C.; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Little Texas Assembly of God conducted by Rev. Otis Duncan and Rev. Marshal Turner. Burial will be in Clearview Baptist Church cemetery.
The body is at O'Dell Mortuary where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. today. (Greenville News, June 14, 1971)
