Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Gladys Ross Green.
Marjorie dedicated many years of her life in service at the Greenville County Tax Office, demonstrating commitment and diligence until her well-deserved retirement.
Beyond her professional life, Marjorie's greatest joy came from being a devoted mother and grandmother. Her love and devotion to her grandchildren were immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Their presence brought unparalleled joy and fulfillment to her life.
Marjorie will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by friends, family, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her love and grace.
She is survived by daughter, Melissa Shipman; son, Ira Shipman (Desiree); grandsons, Austin Shipman and Carson Valeka; granddaughters, Elizabeth Shipman and Lily – Mae Shipman; sisters, Phyllis Staton, Debbie Channell (Gary), and Shirley Ammons (Doug Shaw); brothers, James Green (Linda), Bobby Green, and Phillip Green (Tina);
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Green.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 02, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park.
