William fought in the Revolutionary War, having served in 1775. He is listed in the "Schuylkill Co. Patriots of the American Revolution". The "Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, Vol.2, p. Serial: 11393; Volume: 3" lists his name and Cemetery location as McKeansburg. He married (1) Phillipina DREIBELBIS and (2) Maria Magdalena NEUFANG). William was a farmer in Brunswick Township where he owned 176 acres. After he died his homestead of land passed by his will to his son, John W. Koch, and later when John W. Koch died, it passed to his son, Morgan W. Koch, and from the latter to his son, Charles H. Koch. William's children were as follows:

(2) Catherina m. George RAUSCH, Schuylkill Co. PA
(3) Susanna m. John Jacob HUNTZINGER, Berks Co., PA

(5) Elizabeth m. Rev. John KNOSKE, Reading, PA

(7) Samuel (name changed to COOK), moved to Michigan
