Homer Rumrill's Obituary from the Saginaw Republican Newspaper.

A Native of Midland, a Farmer of Bullock Creek, Dies May 9 After Short Illness, Aged 54.

Homer Rumrill was born in 1853 in the pioneer days of Midland in a house that stood on the river bank on the Ostrander farm, now Mr. Bennett's. Midland county has been his home ever since, except one year at Birch Run. He was married at the age of 25 to Miss Virginia Alger of Midland. They moved to Birch Run and after a year returned to Midland, and have since lived on their Bullock Creek farm.

Mr. Rumrill's sickness began May first, rapidly developing into pneumonia. He said almost at the first that he should not recover, and gave instructions in regard to his affairs. Death came May 9th, late in the day.

Four sons and four daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Rumrill. Geroge arrived from Califronia the day following his father's death. Mrs. Earl Rumrill came from Charlotte Thursday night, but death was there a half hour before her. Mrs. David Alger came Saturday from Birch Run, Mr. Alger having come some days before.

Three brothers and two sisters survive Mr. Rumrill, a sister having died. Mr. Solon Rumrill, who died some yers ago, father Mrs. Alfred Price, was a half brother of the deceased. His father came from Vermont in the early days with two yoke of oxen and settled on the Ostrander place. The father died in 1883, the mother in 1894, both of old age.

The funeral was held at the home Monday at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Rumrill was a good man, and one who had worked hard on the farm all his life.
