She was born March 24, 1920, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Robert and Rudy French Crossan. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her stepmother, Mary Lynch Crossan. She attended schools in Ogdensburg. She married Carlton T. Fraser in 1940 in Watertown. He predeceased her on December 4, 1967. She later married Robert McCarthy in Massena. Mr. McCarthy predeceased her on March 24, 1970.
She worked for Woolworth's for 29 years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Hannah is survived by her two children and their spouses, Carlton T. Jr. and Beverly Fraser, Chazy, and Cynthia A. and Charles Patterson, Rotterdam; 11 grandchildren, Amanda and Joshua Patterson, Kirk, Carlton, Victor, and Duane Fraser, Kim Purdy, Dawn Langlois, Wendy McAuillif, Trina Trombley, and Gabrielle Fraser; nine great-grandchildren, Clay, Richie, Marie, Dylan, Delaney, Patrick, Samantha, Janey, and Rhys; two step-sisters, Betty Dulmage and Kathryn Crossan, both of Ogdensburg; and two nephews that were like sons to her, Larry and Gary Logan, both of Massena.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, and sister, Kathryn A. Logan on March 19, 2005.
At her request, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
