Robert H. McCarthy, 55, of 15 Haskell Street, died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 9:40 o'clock Tuesday night, March 24, 1970, where he had been a patient since March 17.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hannah Crossan Fraser, whom he married February 7, 1970; one step-son Carlton Fraser, Jr., Plattsburgh; one step-daughter, Miss Cynthia Fraser, at home; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Sedlak, Syracuse and Mrs. Lee (Grace) Paige, Raymondville; three brothers, James Leo McCarthy and Maurice McCarthy, both of Syracuse, and John McCarthy, Massena; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McCarthy was born in Parishville September 12, 1914, a son of Dennis and Clara L. Dox McCarthy. He attended schools in Potsdam and Massena an served in the US Army in World War II, participating in the Normandy Invasion and engagements in Belgium, Germany and France.

He came to Massena from Potsdam 22 years ago and served as a truck driver at Alcoa.

His first wife was Miss Lucille Reddick whom he married in January, 1965. She died March 8, 1966.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
