I met Shirley Weaver the day we started school in the 7th grade. We immediately became best friends. I have not forgotten her, even after all these years. I have so many great memories of her. In the Spring of 1951, I had someone take a picture of the two of us in front of one of the school buses on the school grounds of Desha Central at Rohwer AR. She is on the left. It's one of my favorite pictures. She gave me the other photo of herself. Shirley wrote in my 1950-51 yearbook "Virginia, Please remember me by this verse. You be the ice cream and I'll be the freezer, You be the lemon and I'll be the sqeezer. Shirley W."

Twice I have had someone to search for Shirley's grave, with no results. I have been notified that she has no stone.
