Rocky Mountain News - August 23, 1978 - Mass of Christian Burial for Clement "Pat" Apodaca, retired federal employee will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery. Apodaca died Sunday in his home at 3631 Pecos St. He was 52. He was born in Walsenburg on January 9, 1926, and was graduated from Manual Training High School in 1945. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving from 1950 to 1953. He worked more than six years as a cook at the Oxford Hotel, and was a long-time Air Force civil service employee at Lowry Air Force Base until retiring because of his health on July 21. He married Lucy M. Torres (daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Louis Torres, Brighton) on Sept. 14, 1965. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Susan G. Armijo and Rosie J. Onorato, both of Denver, and Clara E. (Alexander) Rimbert of Albuquerque, N.M.; his mother, Carlotta M. Apodaca of Denver; three brothers, Gasper Castro of Colorado Springs, Mars Apocaca and Peter Apodaca, both of Denver; a sister Anita Deaton of Woodland Park, and 10 grandchildren and numerous other close relatives. Recitation of the Rosary, 6 p.m., Tuesday, Chapel of the Chimes, 1331 Sherman Street. Mass of Christian Burial, 7 p.m., Wednesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Procession leaves St. Patrick's, 9 a.m., Thursday. Interment, Ft. Logan National Cemetery with full military honors. American Legion J. P. Martinez Post No. 204 invited to attend. Friends will be received at 4200 Pecos after interment.
