Elmer D. Sipple, 89, of Salem died at 4:37 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem with Ross Logan officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Sipple is survived by a son, Danny (Patty) Sipple of Taylorsville; daughters, Janice Johnson of Paoli, Kay (Jerry) Keeney of Memphis, Tenn., and Marje (J.C.) Campbell of Pekin; brothers, James F. (Edith) Sipple of Lafayette and Herbert G. (Penny) Sipple of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Phyllis J. (Richard) Gregory of Shreveport, La.; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Sipple; a son, Conrad Sipple; and a daughter, Dena Atkins.
