Luther Vernon Allen, 77, of 17 Langley St. died of natural causes Nov. 15, 1987, at Oconee Geriatric Center.

He was a retired custodian for Pelzer Elementary School and a member of Washington Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lillie Mae Thompson Allen of the home; three sisters, Beatrice Keys of Pelzer, Maude Knight of West Pelzer and Edna Davis of Williamston; and a brother, Fred D. Allen of Anderson.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The family is at the residence.
