She was the daughter of Ervil and Martha Prescott, after whom Prescott Road and Prescott School were named; Prescott gave the land for the original Prescott School.
The Prescotts moved from Los Angles to Modesto when their daughter was 10 and she resided here 65 years. Her Husband, Leslie Lee Chapman, a native of Mariposa, died a year ago.
A graveside service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Chapman family plot in the Mariposa Cemetery. Mrs. Chapman leaves a daughter, Lorraine Chapman Palmer of Apple Valley; a sister, Mattie Prescott Bryan of Reno, and three grandchildren, Kirby, Rodney and Cheryl Palmer.
