Born April 15, 1920, in Cliffside, she was the daughter of the late Hubert S. and Annie Mae Spake Crawley.
Mrs. Wright was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was artistic and creative. She was a simple and gracious lady who loved flowers, candy, ice cream and sweets. Her face lit up when she was around her family. With her loving hands, she cared for her daughter and grandchildren like only a mother can.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Artie T. Wright, and five brothers, Therlo Crawley, Fay Crawley, Grayson Crawley, Paul Crawley and Max Crawley.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy W. Richardson and husband, James, of Hickory; two brothers, Bobby Crawley of Baltimore, Md., and Ken Crawley and wife, Mary, of Shelby; one sister, Syble Rayne and husband, Richard, of Shelby; three grandsons, Cole Richardson and wife, Dawn, of Latta, S.C., Jason Richardson and wife, Sunday, of Hickory, and Parker Richardson and wife, Rebecca, of Charlotte; and four great-grandchildren, Case Richardson, Camden Richardson, Anna Scott Richardson and Ella Richardson.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Byron Repass officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m.
