Emma Minerva Law was born to James and Delora [Lamb] Law on July 7, 1878, near Grinnell, Iowa. At the age of five she moved with her parents to the site of the present Law farm in Ida County, northeast of Correctionville. Here she received her education in the rural schools and grew to womanhood. On July 4, 1922, she married Kenneth Jennings at LeMars. In 1924 they moved to a farm near Flandreau, South Dakota. After living on various farms in South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri and Iowa, Mr. Jennings died November 5, 1952, at the farm home near Leon, Iowa. Mrs. Jennings then lived with her sister, Mrs. Daisy Baldwin, in Correctionville until 1958, then because of failing health she entered the Ingleside Nursing Home in Sioux City. She remained there until she had to be taken to a Sioux City hospital in late September. She passed away October 6, 1967, at the age of 89. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, at the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice A. Gunn officiating. Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery. Survivors include her brother, Clifford Law of Cushing, sister, Mrs. Daisy Baldwin of Valley View Manor in Correctionville, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
