CLYDE A. WILT Retired PRR Worker Dies
Clyde A. Wilt, 80, of Box 375, Homers Gap RD 1, died at 12:25 a.m. today, May 24, 1982, in Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Wilt retired as a fireman from the Pennsylvania Railroad July 1, 1966, after more than 43 years' service.He was born July 3, 1901, in Sharpsburg, the son of Frederick and Maria (Shaffer) Wilt, and Jan. 1, 1923, in Cumberland, Md., married Dorothy A. West. Surviving are his wife, four children: William F. of Juniata, James G. of Richardson, Texas, and Mrs. Jean Weidlich and Mrs. Nancy Ickes of Homers Gap; 17 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandsons. Also surviving is a brother, Dennis L. of Homers Gap. Mr. Wilt was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church,Sinking Valley, where he was a member of the church council for many years and the Men's Bible class, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers Lodge.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata.
WILT -- Services for Clyde A. Wilt of Box 375, Homers Gap RD 1, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, by the Rev. Robert Westerberg. Interment in Antis Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.From jcabowers
