Capt. Buford W. Eagan, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Eagan, Olney, husband of Helen Corley, Lubbock, graduate at Olney High. Entered Army AC in 1941, served as Flight Commander with 15th Air Force. Awarded Silver Star, 2 OLC, and Purple Heart. Killed over Vienna, Austria, in 1944.

Captain and Pilot of B-24G # 42-95281. Served with the 762nd BS, 460th Bomb Group.

Mrs. Buford W. Eagan, 2022 Main Street, received an official notification that her husband, Lt. Eagan, 25, a B-24 pilot, has been missing in action over Austria since 8 July. No other details were given.

Lt. Eagan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Eagan, now of Olney, but formerly of Littlefield.

Lt. Eagan was born in Olney but graduated from Littlefield High school and was ready to start his senior year at Texas Tech college when he enlisted in the US Army Air forces three years ago. He received his wings at Brooks Field at San Antonio.

Buford Eagan married Helen Corley of Olney on 16 December 1942 at Olney, Texas. She is a graduate of Texas Tech.

Survived by his wife; two children - Mary and Mitchell Eagan.
