George and Margaret lived on 320 acres near the Ohio and Blue rivers. The land is nine miles west of Corydon and three miles east of Leavenworth. They attended church services organized by Rev Johann Pfrimmer in 1814. A log building was eventually built and George became a minister of the church in 1835. In 1837, he donated six acres for a new church, which was the United Brethren Church in Christ; also known as the Potato Run Church.
