PIONEER HENRY MAXWELL DIES~
SETTLED IN LINN COUNTY IN 1852 AND CAME TO LANE COUNTY IN 1857

Henry Maxwell, a pioneer of Oregon, died at the home of his brother, John Maxwell, at Irving, Sunday April 4, at the age of 63 years, from stomach trouble.

He was born in Holt county, Mo., March 16, 1847. He crossed the plains in 1852, settling east of Harrisburg in Linn county, and from there moved to Lane county in 1857, since which time he has resided in the county. He leaves nine children living in different parts of this state and California, and one brother, John, near Irving.

The funeral will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the U.B. (United Brethren) church at Irving, of which the deceased was a member. Rev. M. Morris will conduct the services.~~~

Henry Maxwell married Mary Hill, a native of Whiteside County, Illinois, on 11 Dec 1867 in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. He died at the age of 62 from pulmonary tuberculosis.
