MRS. EMMA EDWARDS OF SAREPTA, DIES ON THURSDAY, JAN. 18TH-
Bruce, Miss., Jan. 22.- Services and burial were held at Sarepta last Friday, Jan. 19, for Mrs. Emma Edwards, who died at the Bruce Hospital Thursday, Jan. 18th, after a long illness. Rev. J.F. Hartley and Rev. J.W. Henry officiated, with Thornton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was 72 and a life-long resident of Sarepta. She had been a member of Sarepta Baptist Church since girlhood and was held in very high esteem for her high Christian character and useful and exemplary life.
She leaves five daughters, Mr. Ben Freeman, Durant, Okla.; Mrs. Jim Frizell, Mrs. J.H. Howell, Mrs. Elzy Yancy, Mrs. Prentiss Tindall, all of Sarepta; two step-sons, E.C. Edwards, Water Valley; D.R. Edwards, Memphis; a step-daughter, Mrs. J.B. Bratton, Crenshaw; three brothers, A. Yancy, Bruce; Sim Yancy, Texas; Fred Yancy, Sarepta; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie freeman, Sarepta; Mrs. Ida Gossitt, Texas, and Mrs. Alice Williams, Oxford.
