Mamie Marie Pine was born on August 18, 1915 in Dodson, LA, she passed away March 2, 2000 in Dallas, TX at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-five years, Glenn Pine, and is survived by her two children, Don Pine of Houston, TX and Cindy Connell of Waco, TX, and five grandchildren, Stacy and Christopher Pine and Carie, Cayce and Chance Connell.

A graduate of Louisiana College, she taught high school for five years in Atlanta, LA before marrying and eventually moving to Dallas. A long time member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church, she was active in the Cliffwood Study Club and the Joanna Sunday Centennial Celebration. Previously she served as Superintendent of the Young People Away Department and as Assistant Superintendent of the College Department at Cliff Temple.

Marie never forgot her roots. Her Louisiana friends and relatives were important to her and she continued to support local organizations such as the Transport Cemetery Association, the Louisiana Political History Museum, and Louisiana College.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 4 at Cliff Temple Baptist with interment following at Laurel Land Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Cliff Temple Baptist Church, 125 Sunset Avenue, Dallas, TX 75208.
