Jean Muston Goodman, 87, of Lafayette, died at her daughter's residence on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009.

Born in Lafayette, Dec. 12, 1921, she was daughter of the of Grover and Mabel Ward Muston.

She attended Jefferson High School.

She married Isaac Ward, and he preceded her in death in 1953.

She then married Charles Goodman, and he preceded her in death in 1978.

Mrs. Goodman worked in housekeeping at Purdue University for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of First Church of God, where she was a member of Heart to Heart and The Reading Circles.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Ward (wife: Victoria) of San Antonio, Larry Ward (wife: Cathy) of Eagle River, Alaska, and Robert Ward of Michigan; three daughters, Mary Crowe (husband: Clarence) of Mulberry, Linda Anderson of Brookfield, III, and Kathy Garcia (husband: Theodore) of Commerce City, Colo.; and a sister, June Douglas of San Antonio;25 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters
