After graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in dance, she returned to Beaumont where she met and married her husband, Leonard E. Garrett.
She spent her married life as the wife of a career military officer in the United Stated Army and lived in many interesting places in this country as well in Europe.
She was survived by her two children, Sharon S. Garrett and Leonard E. Garrett, Jr.
