Chico Record, Number 247, 18 October 1910: DEATH OF AGED WILLIAM ANDERSON AT BIGGS. BIGGS, Oct. 17.—Saturday afternoon William S. Anderson was found dead at the rear of his residence, and from all appearances had died without a struggle. The deceased was 59 years of age and for some weeks had been ill with heart troubles, but his death was a great surprise to his many friends, as he had made no complaint of feeling any worse than usual. The deceased was one of the old-timers of the section, and at one time was a guard at the Folsom State Prison, but had lived it Biggs nearly all his lifetime. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. A.M. Pitts of Biggs, and Rev. T.B. Anderson, who at one time was in charge of the M.E. Church (South) at Sacramento.
