Polly Mary Ann was the daughter of Absalom Turrentine & Sarah Farmer.
children of Sarah & Ab were:
Lucinda Jane Turrentine Murray* b. 1833 - d. 1878
Polly Ann Turrentine Murray* Hickey b. 1834 - d. 1916
Sophronia Adeline Turrentine Murray* Parker b. 1839 - d. abt 1879
Thomas Marion Turrentine b. abt 1841 - d. abt 1894
James M Turrentine b. 1844 - d. 1865 (speculative)
Absalom A. Turrentine b. 1846 - d. 1894
* yes, the Turrentine sisters married Murray brothers

The year the Farmer & Turrentine Family moved to Arkansas is unknown, but we do find them taking up residence there by 1840; Absalom was named on the War Eagle**, Madison Co., Arkansas Census with a household of:
Males under age 5 = 1
Males 30 - 39 = 1
Females under age 5 = 2
Females 5 - 9 years = 2
Females 20 - 29 = 1
total household = 7
We believe 'Polly' Mary Ann was one of the two girls aged 5 to 9 years named in 1840.
**Note: by 1902 War Eagle was in Benton County, Arkansas.

It was the October of 1850 U.S. Federal Census at Mulberry, Johnson County, Arkansas where we first see all of the Farmer & Turrentine Family members named:
mother: Sarah Farmer Turrentine, age 39
children: Lucinda Jane Turrentine, age 17
Polly Ann Turrentine, age 16
Sopronia A Turrentine, age 11
Thomas M Turrentine, age 9
James M Turrentine, age 6
Absolem Turrentine, age 4
Sarah's spouse, Absalom has passed. Sarah's Census notation doesn't state 'widow' we are only speculative of Ab's death based upon his absence on the Census or any other Census we have reviewed, and the fact that she will remarry in a few years.

In about 1852 Polly Ann, or Mary Ann Polly Turrentine will wed Henry Murray and on the June 21, 1860 U.S. Federal Census we find Mary Murray and her spouse Henry Murray having birthed three of the four children we know they parented:
James Murray age 7
Sarah Murray age 6
Eliza Murray age 3
At this time in 1860 Henry Murrays older brother John lives next door with his wife Ruth Holmes and their four older children. It was a good life for the Turrentine, Murray & Holmes Families.

By the time the 1870 Census was taken, Henry and Polly's children were all born. Henry is 37, Polly is 35, living with them are children: James A, age 16; Sarah J, age 15; Eliza C, age 13 and Mary A. E. age 9.
At this time in 1870 Polly's sister Sophronia, who had married Wyatt J. Murray (yes, the brother of Henry Murray) they live in the same household, and we sadly report that Wyatt J. Murray has passed.
The Turrentine sisters can help one another in many ways in their time of need.

June of 1880 Henry, aged 47 and Polly A. aged 45 years live at Perry, Johnson Co., Arkansas. their son James A., aged 27 his wife Sarah M. Nichols Murray age 21, and their two children Valeria and Lena live with Henry & Polly. Henry is a miller ... is this grain or wood? Son James is a Farmer.

About 1881 Mary Pollys spouse Henry has passed.

July 8, 1884 Mary Turrentine Murray wed John R. Hickey. John is the son of a well established family in the Johnson County area. John Hickey and his first wife Margaret Macom had 10 children.

By the 1900 Census we find Mary widowed a second time and is a boarder with the Charles W. Johnson family at Altus, Franklin, Arkansas. Mary A Hicky is aged 65 years.

In 1910, Mary A (Turrentine Murray) Hickey is identified as widowed, aged 76 living with step grand children, the Deevers, at Perry, Johnson Co., Arkansas. This is the last government record we find Polly Mary Ann Turrentine Murray Hickey. We are yet to find the familial link between Turrentine - Murray - Hickey & Deevers.

Mary Ann passes at Johnson County Arkansas and is fortunate that her second husband; John R. Hickey had a family with some property and a family Cemetery ... where we find Polly Mary Ann, or Mary Ann Polly Turrentine Murray Hickey interred adjacent to her first husband; Henry Murray.

Sincere thanks to the Hicky / Hickey Family for their generosity and considerations.
