Ivy Baird,72, Dies at Tupelo
Ivy Walker Baird, Chickasaw County farmer, died at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, at 2:30 pm, Sunday, Sept 14, at the age of 72.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 pm, Monday, Sept 15, from the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. H L Hathorn, pastor of the Houston First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Houston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Baird, Hubert Baird, James Baird, Evans Baird, James Austin Gann and Allen Holliday.
Mr. Baird, who resided on route 3, Houston, was a lifelong resident of this county.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Baird of Houston; two sons, Wesley Baird of Starkville and Tommy Baird of Avondale, Ariz.; a daughter, MRs. Sue Pemper of Altus, Okla.; two brothers, Andrew Baird of San Antonio, Tx., and A L Baird of Lucedale, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Annie Lois Leopard of Okolona, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
