LIllian E Reid was born 1859 in CA and shows up as 10months old on the 1860 census, living with both parents. Her mother died in October 1860. In 1870 she is living in RI with, presumable, her maternal grandmother Teresa Rathbone, aka Thankful Bliren. She ends up back in CA, as she marries Selah Walker in 1877, but the name of record is: Lilly West. She would have been 18 at the time, so it seems a bit crazy that she had been married before, but not impossible. No record of a West husband is found. No certain records have been found of her after the 1890 divorce. 1890 census records no longer exist, destroyed by fire.

Now here is where the real confusion come in between Lillian Reid 1859 and the sister-in-law Lillian Walker b. 1863...

The 1900 census shows a Lillian Walker living and working as a maid in RI. This has oft been attributed to our Lillian Reid Walker, but upon closer inspection... it appears that this is the (not quite murdered) Lillian Walker as the dob is 1863. Both Lillians had both sets of parents born in RI.

1900: Cranston, Providence, RI: Single/cousin/nurse/housekeeper to Calvin & Imogene Hopkins Woodward. DOB 11/62 in CA. Imogene is related to Lillian Walker through her mother Mercelia Hopkins Walker.

1910: Cranston, Providence, RI: single/servant/housekeeper to Florence Williams. Born 1863 in CA, both parents RI.

1920: Cranston, Providence, RI: single/housekeeper to Willian & Lydia Feaner. Born 1864 in CA.

1930: Putnam, Windham, CT: single/housekeeper to Lewis F Battey. Born 1864 in CA, both parents RI.

1940: Putnam, Windham, CT: widowed/housekeeper to Lewis F Battey. Born 1864 in CA.

To add to this confusion... Lillian Walker, who died in Putnam, Windham, CT is shown of findagrave to be the mother of Clarence Reid Walker. the dob is 1863-1947. So, I conclude that this is actually the Lillian, aunt to Clarence and whomever set this profile up is in error.

So, the short story... is that I have no idea where Lillian Reid went after the divorce. No records found.
