Madge Chatfield Rites Thursday
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Williams Community Church for Mrs. Madge Rose Chatfield, 70, well known and respected resident of Williams for 43 years, who died at noon yesterday in Colusa Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Chatfield was born July 22, 1892, in Italy, and came to Williams in 1920. She was a member of Loyal Chapter, Eastern Star, the Williams Woman's Club and the Colusa County Farm Bureau and took an active part in community endeavors. Mrs. Chatfield engaged in the buying and shipping of livestock for many years, as did her late husband. She was particularly active in the Williams Woman's Club and was noted for her ability in arranging flowers. She planned and executed the club exhibit at the county fair for years.

Mrs. Chatfield was a woman of much charm and friendliness and her death has saddened many friends. Her chief interest was her family. She was a most devoted mother. Mrs. Chatfield is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Aura May of Lafayette, Mrs. Lola Fabris and Mrs. Lillian Erickson of Berkeley, Mrs. Charlotte Putnam of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Norma Forcier of Belmont; a son, Clark Chatfield of Sacramento; sister, Mrs. Ann Bertram of Colorado, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Internment will be in the Williams Cemetery with McNary-Moore directing.
