Mr. Church Lanier, an old and respected citizen of this county, died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. George Stratton, in the Eighteenth district, Saturday afternoon. Mr. Lanier was born in 1806, and during his residence here filled the position of sheriff, deputy sheriff and constable. His remains were interred at Spring Hill cemetery yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Lanier married Ethel Johnson on January 25, 1920 at 9 o’clock at the home of the Rev. A.W. Duncan, who officiated. Only a few friends were present at the ceremony.
