Daws S. Kiger, 85, of Amity R. D. 1, formerly of Waynesburg R. D. 3, died at 4:09 a.m. Friday, November 22, 1991, in Washington Hospital following an illness of one week.

He was born September 9, 1906, in Whiteley Township, a son of Morgan and Anna Newell Kiger.

With the exception of the past year when he resided at Amity R. D. 1, all of Mr. Kiger's life was spent in Greene County, where he was a retired farmer and stock raiser.

His wife, Mildred Fox Kiger, whom he married September 12, 1929, died January 23, 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Shahan Jr. of Amity R. D. 1, with whom he made his home; a son, Kinsey Allen Kiger of Washington R. D. 8; three grandchildren, Danny Shahan, Chris Kiger and Mrs. Larry (Pattie) Staggers of Amity R. D. 1; a great grandchild; and three brothers, Okel Kiger of Spraggs R. D. 1, and Larnie Kiger and Herman Kiger, both of Mount Morris R. D. 1.

Deceased are four brothers, Vernon Kiger, Raymond Kiger, Jesse Kiger and Hansel Kiger; and four sisters, Grethel Wilson, Flora Fox, Altha Mae Kiger and Rose Faye Kiger.
