Arlander was preceded in death by his parents Edward Arthur and Gladys Duncan Short; and three brothers, Jimmy Short, Edward Arthur Short Jr. and Edward Earl Short.
He was survived by five daughters; Trina Cox and husband Kelby, Veronica Grice and husband Ronald, Monica Wilson and husband Julius, Cassandra Hyman and Angela Hubbard and husband Leroy, all of Greenville; a son Arlander Short Jr. of Macon, GA; a godson Dominique Sheppard of the home; two sisters; Jo Ann Short and Mildred A. Short, both of the home; two brothers, Willie A. "Pete" Short of the home and James Edward Short of Bridgeport, Conn; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Philips Bros. and Anderson Mortuary of Greenville.
