Lois was reared and educated in Ogden, Utah, and spent many summers in Logan with her grandparents. She graduated from Ogden High School. She was trained as a secretary and worked at the Naval Supply Base during World War II. Lois was a member of the Layton Forest Park LDS Ward. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was proud of her pioneer heritage. Lois was a great-granddaughter of the Apostle Charles Coulson Rich.
Lois helped her husband Norris establish Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary and worked side-by-side as his helpmate for many years. She resided in Kaysville for 25 years and in Layton for the past 10 years. Our mother was a loving, unselfish, kind and compassionate person who deeply loved her family, always putting them first. Lois was a wonderful homemaker and cook, and loved her yard. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane and Douglas Call of Clearfield; two sons, Norris Robert and Nancie Nalder of Farmington, Brent R. Nalder of Layton; 10 grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Call, Jeffrey Call, Matthew and Jennifer Call, Jennifer and Brandon Nordquist, Jason and LaShelle Nalder, Natalie and Justin Brown, Elder Bryan Nalder, Jessica, Jordan and Nicholas Nalder; four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Abby, Caden and Carson Call; three brothers, Thomas Rich, Charles and Carma Rich, Bruce and Susan Petersen; and one sister, Shirley and Harold Higley; one daughter-in-law, Lynda Stagg. She was preceded in death by her husband Norris, her parents, an infant sister Virginia, one son Douglas Rich Nalder, and a granddaughter Ashley.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, with Bishop's Counselor Leigh Huggins officiating. Friends and family called Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Kaysville City Cemetery.
