OGDEN – Thomas Grover Rich, 82, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014.

He was born October 15, 1932 in Ogden, Utah the son of Russell Rich and LaPrele Petersen. His dad died when he was very young and he was raised by Charles and LaPrele Petersen.

Tom was a life-long resident of Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College.

Tom was a very loving and loyal son and brother. He was a loving and generous uncle to many nephews and nieces. Tom was a kind, considerate and giving person.

Tom was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a teletype operator in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at the Ogden Post Office for several years and retired from HAFB with 35 years of service.

Surviving are his brother Bruce Rich (Susan) Petersen, Layton; sister Shirley Higley, SLC; many nieces, nephews and by his very special and best friend, Madeline Borgogno who was a very important part of his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Rich, sister Lois Nalder, niece Barbara Cowan and nephews Doug Nalder and Justin B. Petersen.

Graveside services will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
