Joe Decker
   Services for Joe Decker were held July 20, 1968, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic church, with Fr. Lawrence Kelley officiating.
   Casketbearers were Robert Decker, James L. Decker, Don Ridpath, Gary Ridpath, Kenneth Decker and Marvin Decker.
   Servers were Dwight Decker, Duane Decker, Mike Wagner, Kurt Wagner and John Conrad.
   Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
   Joe Decker the oldest child of Martin and Barbara Decker was born June 29, 1877 at St. Paul, Ind., and died July 17, 1968 in the Coffey County hospital, where he had been ill for four weeks. He was 91. He came to Kansas with his parents when he was six years old. They moved to a farm southeast of Hartford. He attended Indian Hill school and was the oldest of 14 children.
   He married Flora Shannon May 22, 1906.
   The 1951 flood forced him to retire, on August 7. They moved to Burlington and lived there until his death.
   Besides his wife survivors include seven children, twenty-five grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.
