Larue was born on June 17, 1928 in Fountain Green, Utah to Roy O. and Cleo Estella Crowther. She grew up a middle child with an older brother Kenner, and a younger sister Royce. She cherished a large extended family of cousins, aunts, and uncles and looked forward each year to the annual Crowther get togethers.
After graduating from Moroni High School, she attended LDS Business College where she was at the top of her class in her Shorthand and Type classes. She retired from First Security Bank after serving 13 years as a Secretary/Teller.
Larue married A. Dean Shaw on June 10, 1949 in the Manti Temple. Together they made a loving home in Nephi, where they raised their three children.
Keeping a clean, organized home and taking wonderful care of her husband and children was always top priority for her. She loved to get the entire family together where she could spoil her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grand-children.
Mom was happiest when her family was gathered around her. Larue loved music, had a beautiful voice, and sang in a quartet for many years. She served faithfully in many church callings. She and Dean loved serving together as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple.
Larue loved to travel with Dean; they went on many memorable trips and cruises. Her favorite was a family Caribbean Cruise in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mom, grandma, we love you and will be forever grateful for your example of love, service and enduring to the end.
Larue was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her children: Chris (DeRay) Sudweeks, Taylorsville: SuzAnne (Russ) Farrer, Springville; and Curt (Sheila) Shaw, Genola; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children, a brother and sister, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Nephi 2nd Ward Chapel, 222 South 100 East. Friends may call from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the Funeral.
