Per notes from Attie Pauline Estes Holland, wife of Ocie Miller Holland, to Patsy Robertson, Charles Miller Holland's father, Jacob Miller Holland, was born on September 12, 1828 in Pickens County, Alabama. He moved to Choctaw County, (name was later changed to Webser) Mississippi around 1839 when he was ten years old. His father, Absalom, settled near Big Black Creek and farmed. Jacob also was a farmer. In March 1861, Jacob enlisted in the Confederate Army and fought until the end of the war. Jacob died on November 26, 1903.
