Mae Ledford, 88, of Hayesville died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 in a Towns County, GA care center. A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Arb and Jessie Rogers Ashe and the wife of the late Willis Ledford, who died Nov. 3, 1996. Mae was a homemaker and a member of the Shooting Creek Church of God.

Surviving are five daughters, Rebecca Earley and Yvonne Alexander both of Hayesville, Jackie McConnell and husband, Randall of Hiawassee, GA, Landis Brown and husband, Wendell of Atlanta, GA, and Teresa Ledford of Lawrenceville, GA; and nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Jan. 4 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Pastor Doyce Waters officiating. Interment will be in the Shooting Creek Church of God Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy McConnell, Richard McConnell, Marvin Brown, Kenny Brown, Kyle McConnell, and Kaleb Garrett.
