Irene passed into the waiting arms of her Lord Jesus and waiting family members on December 24, 2008. She was born to Frank and Anna (Novak) Tupa on April 23, 1921 in Veseleyville, Prairie Centre Township, ND.

Irene graduated from Minto High School and worked at the Glass & Paint Store in Grafton and Grand Forks, ND. On December 24, 1959 she married Jay Raymond Hyde and was a proud Air Force wife for over 30 years.

To this union a son, Jay Frank, was born. Irene was a homemaker, a wonderful Mom, and Grandma. She was an avid gardener and bowler. She also volunteered at the TREA Bingo and at the Purple Heart Club working at the snack bar and as a Bingo Caller. She was a lifetime member of the National TREA Women's Auxiliary.

Irene was preceded in death by her first husband, Terrance Murphy, and her second husband, Jay Raymond Hyde, to whom she was married 37 years. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers: Cecil, Frank, Art, and Herman Tupa, and her beloved parents.

She is survived by her only child, Jay Frank (and his wife, Mary); her treasured grandchildren, Jay Paul and Hollie Marie; her brother, Raymond Tupa; her step-daughter, Judy Wilson (and her husband, Gary, and their three children: Kate, Chris, and Tim); her Boston Terrier buddies, Aspen and Bella; three sisters-in-law and numerous extended family members and precious friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home in Colorado Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30th at St. Dominick Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, Security, CO.

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
