Arthur J. Tupa, 92, of Laurel, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at his residence. Funeral services were 10 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Laurel. The Rev. Rodney Smith will officiate. He was a retired aircraft engine mechanic and a member of Franklin United Methodist Church in Laurel. He was a member of Mary Clark Sunday School Class and the Men's Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Tupa; his parents, Frank and Anna Tupa; his brothers, Frank Tupa Jr. and Cecil Tupa; and his brother-in-law, Jay Hyde. He is survived by his wife, Virgie Gray Tupa of Laurel; his step-daughter, Anita Dees of North Carolina; his step-son, Walter Gray of Laurel; his brothers, Herman Tupa and Ray Tupa, both of Grand Forks, N.D.; his sister, Irene Hyde of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Gray, Mark Kelly, Jim Bell, Mark Brown, Will Speed and Dal Williamson. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
