She was born in Charleston, SC on December 7, 1931 the daughter of the late Hampton Happy and Erline Ficklin Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Hoppy Hutson and Cyril C. Connor, and a brother, Hampton Griffin, Jr. Mrs. Hutson retired from the Medical University of South Carolina.
She has resided in Wilmington, NC since 2001. Surviving are her three children, J. Michael Hutson and wife Rhonda of Castle Hayne, NC, Deborah H. Johnson and husband David of Gainesville, GA, and Terri H. Horne and husband Mike of Ladson, SC; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, George Griffin and wife Ann of Charleston, SC; a sister, Pat Lamb and husband Darrell of Folly Beach, SC; and other nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. She will be sorely missed. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at STUHR'S WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
