John Dale Hutchcraft, 58, of Calumet Park, a former Gibson City resident, died Thursday, at St. Catherine's Hospital, East Chicago, Indiana where he had undergone heart surgery a month ago. His funeral and burial will be Monday at Oak Lawn.
He was born 5-25-1915, at Aden, a son of John and Amy Viola Garrison Hutchcraft. He married Jeanne Veatch in August of 1942, in St. Louis; she survives. Other survivors include a son, the Rev. Ronald Hutchcraft of New Jersey; a brother, Clarence, Odessa, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Rachel Sharer, Gibson City; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son (Steven Earle) and a brother (Clyde Russell). Mr. Hutchcraft lived in Gibson City with his brother, Clyde, from 1931-1933, where he attended Gibson City High School.
