Graveside serves were held Aug 19 at the Afton Cemetery for Alice Beth Allred Leavitt, 49, a former Afton resident who died Aug 15, 1977 at Panorama City, Calif. of an illness. She lived at Van Nuys, Calif.
She was born Nov 10, 1927 at Afton to Gilbert Brady and Retta Malinda Wright Allred. She attended school in Afton and graduated from the Star Valley High school and Seminary.
She was married to Ralph Leavitt March 12, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah.
She worked as a dental assistant in Afton and also in Lincoln, Neb. and in California. Her husband was manager of a Sav-On Drug Store in southern California and Beth worked as a pharmacy assistant in a drug store.
Before moving to California, the Leavitt's lived in Texas and Nebraska.
Beth was active in the LDS Church and held a number of church positions. She had an excellent singing voice and was active in choral work and served as chorister.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph, a daughter, Mrs George (Nola Marie) Rawson, and a son, Ralph Davis Leavitt III, all of Van Nuys, Calif.; her mother, Malinda Allred, Afton; and brothers and sisters, Gerald Allred, Shelley, Idaho; Mrs Brent (Ilta) Robinson, Lancaster, Calif.; L.A. Allred, Torrance, Calif.; Mrs Doran (Nola) Wilkes, Orem, Utah and DeRell Allred, Las Vegas, Nev.
