Elmer Floyd Rainbolt, 80, Corydon, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Sept. 7, 1928, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late Alfred and Dora Crecelius Rainbolt.
He was an Army veteran, a retired truck driver and a member of Hursttown United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy F. Rainbolt, and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Sue Miller; two sons, David R. Rainbolt of Charlestown and Michael W. Rainbolt of Fredericksburg; a sister, Yvonne Knasel of Clarksville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 20, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Hursttown Cemetery near Corydon.
Officiant: The Rev. Rod Shelton.
Pallbearers: Chad and Shaun Rainbolt, Jordan and Jay Hardesty and Wayne and Jeremy Livers.
