Graveside services for Lucille Routh Ballew were held on Friday, February 7 at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Edward Gorham of the First Christian Church officiating. The family requests that memorials be given to the First Christian Church, Honey Grove, TX 75446.

Mrs. Ballew died February 4 in Albuquerque, NM, at age 98.

She was born March 2, 1898 in Trenton, the daughter of Jonathon Routh and Ada Aldridge Routh.

She attended elementary school in Trenton, boarding school at Carr-Burdette Academie in Sherman, and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1918.

She married Henry Logan Ballew of Honey Grove June 24, 1920, and was pre-deceased by her husband on January 17, 1974.

She lived her entire married life in Honey Grove and resided there after her husband's death until she moved to Albuquerque in 1990.

A member of the First Christian Church of Honey Grove and a member of the Honey Grove Garden Club for 50 years, she is survived by two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. J. O.) Murph of Houston, and Thelma (Mrs. E. E.) Rigney of San Antonio; a daughter, Thelma, and her husband, Bryant R. Ferguson, of Albuguerque; three grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law, David and Dede Ferguson of Albuquerque, Kenneth and Melissa Ferguson of Austin, and Scott Ferguson of Dallas; and four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
