Perkins Ellis was born on 25 Jun 1861 at "Afton", Buckingham Co., VA. Keene Langhorne and Uncle Perks were good friends, according to Dr. Frank Ellis. Perkins and his brothers Thomas and Frank owned a foundry in Birmingham, AL circa 1875. He married Adele Caldwell Davidson on 23 May 1889 at Westwood, Uniontown, AL; had a daughter, Adele, who I believe grew up with her grandparents, her mother died when she was about two months old.
Helen Ellis Petrill writes of a visit in 2000: Grand daughter and great grand daughter of Adele came to Buckingham and visited with Irene, Porter and Franklin in Roanoke. Unclear as to grand daughter of Perkins wife, Adele or his daughter, Adele. He married Sayde Reynolds on 3 Jun 1919 at "Col Alto", Buckingham Co., VA. He died on 20 Apr 1952 at Buckingham Co., VA, at age 90. He was buried circa 25 Apr 1952 at "Solitude" Cemetery, Buckingham Co., VA.
